In hot pursuit - Peregrine Falcon vs Semipalmated Sandpiper

In hot pursuit - Peregrine Falcon vs Semipalmated Sandpiper - Birds of Atlantic Canada
A peregrin falcon closes in on a semipalmated sandpipe near Hopewell Rocks in Albert County, New Brunswick. Note that one sandpiper has just 'ditched'. This is a known sandpiper tactic when it deems that the peregrine is too close for comfort and about to catch it - so as a last resort in while simply drop down into the ocean and let the much speedier falcon overshoot it and pass by.
